C. Saunders Roberson, Jr.
Sandy is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Community since 1998 and has assisted in the growth of hospice in North and South Carolina where Community is the largest provider. Sandy also has a joint venture in Certified Home Health in the Atlanta Metro Area. He has over 22 years experience in healthcare including operations in nursing facilities, therapy, pharmacy, hospice, physician clinics and home health as the Chief Operations Officer of Carrolton Management Company. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Hampden Sydney College. He is also a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator. He is a member of AHHC Government affairs committee and a 2005 NEER Entrepreneur Finalist.Cathy Hernandez
Cathy is the Chief Operating Officer for Community. Prior to joining us, Ms. Hernandez was a CEO in the home health and hospice arena in Northern Texas. Her role as CEO encompassed strategic planning, performance improvement, corporate compliance, business development and human capital procurement. Previously, she was President of Nei-Sun Management Services, a hospital management group for inpatient rehab and long-term acute care hospitals. There she established leadership teams, financial metrics, managed care contracts, operating budgets, vendor negotiations and strategic alignments with the medical communities to include key physician groups. Before that, Ms. Hernandez served as a Chief Development Officer and Chief Operating Officer in an inpatient rehabilitation hospital environment, where she was involved in mergers and acquisitions, implementation integration, management for both internal and external start-up, turnaround, performance improvement and physician partnership strategies. Ms. Hernandez served as an EVP with Home Quality Management (HQM), a for-profit skilled nursing facility organization with 62 facilities across the southeastern U.S. There she worked closely with clinical teams to establish operational excellence for in-house therapy programs, as well as overall operational excellence in a clinical setting. As a member of several facility advisory boards, she assisted a team of multi-disciplinary executives to improve the operational and financial needs of skilled nursing facilities. Prior to joining HQM, Ms. Hernandez served as Chief Operating Officer for CareRehab Services, a subsidiary of LifeCare Hospitals, where she was involved in planning a start-up business model for contracting therapy programs in skilled nursing facilities and managing therapy outcomes for hospitals. She was an integral part of the due diligence and start-up team for all hospital mergers and acquisitions. Ms. Hernandez earned a master's degree in business administration from the School of Business at University of Miami, specializing in healthcare administration and policy.Jonathan Sears Woodall, CPA
Jon joined Community in April 2011 as Chief Financial Officer. Jon has a diverse background in business, commercialization strategy, corporate finance, treasury and accounting. Prior to joining Community, Jon’s career included C-levels roles with private and public middle market companies in the life sciences and financial services industries, as well as 20 years in public accounting (including a partner of a Big 4 public accounting firm). Jon holds an active license as a Certified Public Accountant in the State of North Carolina, and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from North Carolina State University (“NC State”) in Accounting and in Business Management. Jon remains active within an entrepreneurship program at NC State, is a member of the board of directors of a local voluntary health and welfare organization, and is an active member of several professional trade organizations.Tom Shannon, MCSE, MCDBA
Tom joined Community as Chief Information Officer in May, 2011. He has over 21 years experience in providing technology-based solutions to meet business challenges in the health insurance industry and his depth of experience in various technology-related fields gives him a diverse insight into the life cycle of technology management. His background also includes duties related to software development, database administration, quality assurance, IT procurement, asset management, workstation configuration and support, audio/visual solutions, enterprise content management and business process management. He received his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has the following certifications: ITIL v3 Foundations, ECM Practitioner, MCSE and MCDBA.Natalie Sharpe RN, MSN, CHC
Natalie served as Vice President of Clinical Services for Community from August 2001 until January 2011. She has recently been promoted to serve as Chief Compliance Officer for the Community family of companies and has over 18 years of healthcare experience, including home health. Ms. Sharpe earned a BS in Nursing from Fayetteville State University and a Master of Science in Nursing from University of Phoenix. She is certified by the Compliance Certification Board having successfully completed the Healthcare Compliance Examination.Boyd Russell
Boyd is Vice President of Mergers and Acquisitions. He has over 30 years of healthcare and business experience, including clinical diagnostics, pharmacy, home health and hospice, sales training, marketing, national accounts and acquisitions. He is a graduate of Young Harris College and Columbus College. He is a member of NAHC, AHHC, NSA, NMDA, and Chamber of Commerce Board in Charlotte, North Carolina.
